Delegation in Distributed Systems: Challenges and Open Issues
نویسندگان
چکیده
New certi cate-oriented access control systems are based on delegation of privileges. In these scenarios, resource guards have an ACL which delegates to some authorization or naming authorities the right to manage the access to the controlled resources. These authorities can issue certi cates delegating these permissions to other subordinates authorities, or to speci c users. In this way, the generated structure reects the way the authorization is managed. In this paper we present a survey of di erent issues related to certi cate-based delegation, such as management structures, authority and ownership, anonymity, certi cate distribution, and revocation.

Security Issues in Distributed Computing
As the computing world progresses towards open systems the potential of Information Systems is expanding rapidly. This and the process of open standardisation makes it imperative that security is built in to the these systems. There has also been substantial publicity concerning thèinformation superhighway' and the privacy of the information owing on it. It is the purpose of this paper to prese...
متن کاملA Nonmonotonic Delegation Logic with Prioritized Conflict Handling
We extend previous work on Delegation Logic (DL) [11, 12], a tractable and practically implementable logic-based language for authorization in large-scale, open, distributed systems. We expressively generalize the previous version of DL (called D1LP) to have nonmonotonic expressive features, including negation-as-failure, classical negation, and prioritized conflict handling. The resulting form...
متن کاملMulti-User and Security Support for Multi-Agent Systems
This paper discusses the requirements an agent system needs to be secure. In particular, the paper introduces a classification of modern distributed systems, and examines the delegation concept from a security point of view. After discussing the peculiar security and delegation issues present in distributed object systems, mobile agent systems and in multi agent systems, a case study is present...
متن کاملPnm-25: Nursing Information Systems: Issues and Challenges
Background: The nursing process is often considered as core of the nursing care delivery and guides the care documentation. Currently, with rapid advance in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) this process can be supported electronically. Applying information systems improves care health processes. Nursing Information Systems (NISs) deal with nursing process. Materials and Methods: E...
متن کاملDelegation of Obligations
Obligation policies are one main means of exercising control within an organisation. They specify the actions that some subject has to perform. The authority over these actions needs to be specified in authorisation policies. Current policy notations provide us with the needed structure to represent authorisations and obligations as policy objects for distributed systems management. They suppor...
